Shannon and Ted Skokos possess a great appreciation for the arts and its ability to inspire audiences. Shannon was an All-State flutist and John Philip Sousa award recipient. She received her music education degree from the University of Arkansas, traveled throughout Europe as the principal flutist for the U.S. Collegiate Wind Ensemble bringing music to underserved communities, and performed as a soloist for the St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. Her love of the performing arts was not restricted to instrumental music, as she also danced with a regional Arkansas ballet company for 13 years.

When she met her husband Ted, she shared her passion of the arts and he quickly became an advocate as well. The couple have since contributed more than $14 million to support nonprofit organizations that promote the arts and art education, including the AT&T Performing Arts Center, the Alma Education & Arts Foundation, the Dallas Theater Center, the Dallas Opera, Texas Ballet Theater, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and the Dallas Museum of Art.
